It’s time to introduce myself! I’m the owner of this start up label and the mumma of these two little humans, Adi and El. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The idea for this company was birthed in my mind shortly after I gave birth to my second daughter in 2017. Creative inspiration struck like a lightning bolt and I knew there was no going back, I absolutely had to give this company a go. I teamed up with my mother (she’s an incredibly talented French seamstress) to design this first collection of linen clothing for children. It has meant the world to me that our style, which has been described as “french boho” has been so well received! ☺️⠀
My background is in social work and so when I started this business I knew from the outset that I wanted to have a values-driven business, one where kindness was at the forefront of our decision making. ⠀⠀⠀
To be honest, prior to starting up this label, the idea of ‘ethical fashion’ wasn’t something I gave a lot of thought to when it came to my own personal shopping habits. It was in the process of starting up this business that I was confronted with realities about the industry that meant I could no longer stay in the dark! And if it were for that reason alone that I endeavoured on this venture, then I believe it is a worthy one.
Just like many of you, I too am still on a personal journey of learning more about ethical fashion but if there’s one thing I have come to understand more clearly, it would be that we are far more interconnected on this planet than we realise and therefore our choices really do matter a lot. ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I count it a gift to have teamed with gifted men and women in India who work hard and are valued for their work. It’s both a wonderful and daunting prospect that we have the responsibility to shape the world we want our children and grandchildren to live in, but when all is said and done, may it be one where kindness matters! 🙏🏻⠀⠀
